To my Family: Treasure the time together

From a Party at the Cabin….One of my Favs

Favorite memories of Holidays is when the family all comes together. Back in the 80’s and 90’s meeting at Margie’s for our Family Christmas Party was a tradition. Then we met at the cabin a few years. But no matter where we meet, as long as we are together, there will be laughter, hugs, and plenty of good food.  As for me, being a part of this year after year is a priority. I rearrange my schedule if necessary, whatever it takes. I do not want to miss the opportunity to see so many of my loved ones. Some I do not see that often throughout the year.  We should keep foremost in our minds the real reason for our celebration is about Jesus.  And Jesus is all about love….AND the people we love are really what is important in our lives.  Being able to get together is a blessing. We are especially grateful for the joy the season brings. I want to let each and every member of my family know that I am looking forward to seeing them at our gathering.  If at all possible make plans to be there.  Y’all come on and love on one another…Let’s make  some memories!   This is something that bonds families. As we make choices, all throughout the year, I hope we would consider our family as a priority.  Going  to  birthday gatherings or anniversary celebrations instead of choosing to do something else, or just staying home.  These things ARE important. I know that I would just love to attend a birthday celebration for Laura and have her there telling inside jokes and giggling.  But she is gone. Her death taught me not to wait until someone is gone to show appreciation. I will try my best to attend any family function I am invited to.   And Brooke, Ritchie, I know y’all are with us in spirit. We miss and love y’all so much. I would love to see y’all and squeeze Esme and Izzy! Get us all buddy passes and we will have Christmas in London this year! Woo Hoo! Not sure I will get that cardboard cut out of you ready for this event. But that was an excellent idea! This season I also will strive to enjoy my immediate family. Sometimes we get caught up in the stress of it all. We do not take time to actually enjoy the festivities. I am going to try my best to be stress free. It should be a joyous time! Next, I am not going to sugar coat this.  IF any of us have issues with other family members. I am not calling anyone out. I saw a Meme that applies on Facebook recently: This applies! For family sake. It would be better to Suck it up and try to get along. Especially at Christmas. Jesus has done so much for us as far as forgiveness. If we forgive, it is a burden lifted. Love always wins. It never fails.
